Appeals Panels

The system for handling of appeals to the Appeals Panels has recently changed.  The four appeals panels have been dissolved.  Now all appeals panel members are positioned into one inclusive group.  When a request for an appeal comes into ODR, a computer program assigns a panel of three appeals members to the panel.  The computer program also assigns an author of the appeals decision and an alternate panel member in the event an assigned panel member cannot serve in that capacity.  All panel members are given equal opportunity to serve on panels, as well as to author any decisions.  Any questions about this procedure should be directed to the Dispute Resolution Coordinator at ODR.
