Solutions Panels

A Solutions Panel is an informal process for settling disagreements. In a Solutions Panel the parties are encouraged to engage in thoughtful problem solving in order to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. A panel consists of two trained individuals, a parent and an educator, who help the participants reach agreement.

Two intermediate unit regions, Central Susquehanna (IU16) Intermediate Unit and Capital Area (IU15) Intermediate Unit, have completed training in this dispute resolution alternative. For information about Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit's program, please call (570) 523-0378 or toll free (866) 296-8618. An Intake Coordinator will return your call within 48 hours. Capital Area Intermediate Unit is the other IU available to assist in this effort. While the Office for Dispute Resolution does not organize or schedule Solutions Panels, the office can provide more information about the process.
